Charles Sagalane

Charles Sagalane was born in 1968 in Saint-Gédéon-de-Grandmont, Quebec. His literary practice is open to eclectic influences—from Virgil to Mallarmé, from Bashō to Tagore, from Tintin to Perec, from Native American songs to Malay pantuns, from the aesthetics of the troubadours to that of Baricco. Each of his books is part of a vast literary construction, the “Musée moi” (the “Me Museum”), where artistic and curios, treasures and flavours, daily practices and wonders all have their entries. His works interweave fragments, samplings, narration, prose poetry, free verse, and fixed forms.
