François Turcot

François Turcot is the author of Mon dinosaure (nominated for the 2014 Prix du Festival de poésie de Montréal), Cette maison n’est pas la mienne (2009 Prix Émile-Nelligan), Derrière les forêts (nominated for the 2008 Prix Émile-Nelligan) and miniatures en pays perdu (2006), all published by La Peuplade. His poems can be found in New American Writing, Estuaire, Exit, dandelion, Le livre de chevet, Riveneuve Continents, Aufgabe, Action Yes, filling Station, Nor, C’est selon, and his articles in the Cahiers littéraires Contre-jour. His poetry has been translated into English, German, and Polish.

Invited to Poland in winter 2011 by the Association internationale des études québécoises (AIEQ), he delivered a series of conferences entitled D’où je parle: Poésie et édition au Québec (“From Where I Am Speaking: Poetry and Publishing in Quebec”). In 2012, he completed a writing residency at the Biennale de sculpture in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli in association with the Musée de la mémoire vivante. François Turcot lives in Montreal and teaches literature in a college. He is a member of the Union des écrivaines et des écrivains québécois (UNEQ).
