Born in Chicoutimi in 1983, Frédérick Lavoie is an independent journalist working abroad. He is a regular contributor to La Presse, Radio-Canada and various European networks. After five years in Moscow, he left Russia in November 2013 and moved to Mumbai. In the fall of 2012 he published Allers simples: Aventures journalistiques en post-Soviétie (La Peuplade), which recounts his travels to the four corners of the former Soviet empire.
After Russian, he is now learning Hindi and looking to tame the giant Indian beast, a one-way ticket at a time. He promises to pull another story out of this experience.
