Born in La Pocatière in 1978, Jean-François Caron lives and works in Sainte-Béatrix. He left the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi with an MA in Literary Studies and Creative Writing in 2008.
In 2005, after a rewarding experience teaching French, he became editor of Voir Saguenay/Alma where he remained a journalist and cultural columnist for five years. He then worked as a freelance writer, working regularly with other magazines, including Lettres québécoises, Vie des arts and Le Sabord. He has published several artist books and exhibition catalogues, some of which were released by art publishing house Sagamie. In 2010, he worked as head of communications and of audience development for the Théâtre La Rubrique.
Nowadays, he cloisters himself away in the Lanaudière forest to devote himself to writing. The editor of L’Unique, the journal of the Union des écrivaines et des écrivains québécois, he is also an editorial board member of Lettres québécoises, a magazine for which he is also a project manager.
